Hitech TGR left the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in good spirits after a very positive pre-season test, as their all new 2025 lineup of Luke Browning and Dino Beganovic got to work ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The Silverstone-based outfit had a very impressive 2024, led by Paul Aron, as they finished fourth in the Teams’ Standings, while the Estonian wound up third in the Drivers’ Championship.

The goal is to compete at the front in both title fights once more, and in Browning and Beganovic they have a pair of drivers who have already shone brightly during their brief time in Formula 2.

Browning, who has raced with Hitech every year since 2022, finished seventh in his debut Feature Race in Baku. He also scored points in the Yas Marina Sprint, the same race in which Beganovic achieved his first F2 podium.

The pair also impressed in the pre-season test. Browning finished in the top 10 of each session on the opening two days, while Beganovic completed a team-leading 180 laps – ending up second in the afternoon of day two.

As a unit, Hitech completed 345 laps, and while their main objective was to get their drivers fully integrated within their team, they also used the time to collect plenty of data.

For example, there was the sight of Beganovic and Browning swapping front wings on Day 1. The former's silver-liveried #8 car had on a blue-painted front wing, while the latter ran with the silver version, just so the team could see if both wings were performing the same on each car.

This is all part of what pre-season testing is about, gaining a better understanding of everything heading into the campaign, and speaking as the final day came to a close, Team Manager Clive Hatton reflected on it all.

“I think the test was pretty positive,” said Hatton. “No one really knows until we operate on the same run plan in Melbourne whether our pace lines up. But from what we've tested and where we think we are, we feel pretty confident.”

Speaking more about what he has seen from his two drivers before heading into Round 1, Hatton said: “They've performed very well. We've obviously done a bit of work with them over the winter as well, on the simulator.

“They're both strong drivers, they got on well in F3, and they are definitely ready to step up to F2 and hopefully make their mark.

“They're both strong drivers, they got on well in F3, and they are definitely ready to step up to F2 and hopefully make their mark.

“As a team you're always looking for little bits of performance wherever you can. But the main goal is to make sure the drivers are happy with the car, the procedures, and the style of driving required for the team setup and also the F2 car.”

Hatton is excited for the season to get going in Melbourne next week, heading to a track where the team performed well last year, with Aron finishing second in the Feature Race.

Alongside that, he also has a driver in Beganovic who won the Formula 3 Feature Race at Albert Park last year ahead of Browning, in fourth.

Hitech will be confident heading to Australia and there is an air of positivity within the team. It appears they have what they need to hit the ground running.
