We dive into the paddocks to take a look at the essential items for our drivers on a race weekend. From iPads and AirPods to helmets and hats and much more, we find out what they can’t travel without.

Nikita Mazepin is up next…

IPad

I have brought five items here with me, starting with an iPad, which is what I like to use in my free time. It is good to watch TV series on when you have some down time in-between racing. I am not so big on movies really, I prefer TV and have just finished watching ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’ on Netflix. I was very keen to find out how Netflix would show the racing world and I was nicely surprised.

It is also very useful for watching racing footage on when you are trying to prepare for the next session, so it is a must have for me.

The medical bag

We are on the road 24/7, so you never know what could happen with your health and with yourself, so I always take my medical bag with me. I take this around the world with me just in case I need it and it also saves me having to go to the pharmacy.

Foam roller and skipper

I carry around these with me because I use them for warm ups before races, while the foam roller helps me to relax my back and helps any pain.

Headphones

These help me to get in the zone before jumping into the race car, so I use them before every session. Normally, I listen to music because it helps me to get into the right mood and into the right zone before the race. I like dance music, so anything that is active and puts you in a good mood.

Snacks

I always brings different snacks with me. These save me if I am hungry and they save me eating some bad high calorie, unhealthy junk. I always bring my own food with me, it does not matter which country I am in and it keeps my diet consistent.
