Thoughts from Drugovich, Doohan and Sargeant

FIA Formula 2: A very warm welcome to the top three qualifiers for the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race here at Zandvoort. In third place will be Logan Sargent for Carlin, in second place, Jack Doohan for Virtuosi Racing and taking his fourth FIA Formula 2 pole position of the season, our polesitter Felipe Drugovich for local team MP Motorsport. Felipe that was a very impressive lap by you, very well done. Was that your best pole lap of the season?

Felipe Drugovich: Maybe, I think it was up there with the best ones. I had really good laps in Qualifying. Firstly, I need to watch it back to see if it was a really good lap or not, but it felt really good from inside the car so it's up there with the other ones.

FIA Formula 2: Where was the car especially strong around the Zandvoort circuit?

Felipe Drugovich: I think Sector 2 through the high speed sweepers, we were very stronger there so through Turns 7, 8 and 9 was a very good section for us.

FIA Formula 2: Now, you've come back from the summer break very impressively. As we edge towards the end of this season, do you feel like you've refound a groove with your car?

Felipe Drugovich: Yeah, I think everything is coming together. I think I've already said it many times, the break came in at the right time for us. I think it just helped us to regroup and see whatever we were doing wrong by then. I think we managed to improve everything, and I have managed to come out with a even better mentality, just to be ready when it matters. And yeah, I think it's working.

FIA Formula 2: And looking ahead to Sunday's Feature Race, what do you think are going to be the main factors to look out for?

Felipe Drugovich: Well, I think this track is really difficult to overtake, so it's gonna be important to get a good start, but also looking to have to have a safe race and scoring as many points as I can.

FIA Formula 2: And of course, local team for you this weekend. Are you enjoying the Dutch vibe here?

Felipe Drugovich: It's yeah, it's amazing. You can see how many MP people are cheering for us around the circuit. So yeah, it's an amazing environment for us and I'm really enjoying it.

FIA Formula 2: All right, very well done to you, best of luck for the rest of the weekend. Jack coming to you. Now you had pole for much of that session. How confident were you of keeping it or did you know you'd need to go quicker to stay P1?

Jack Doohan: No, I felt quite confident with the machinery that was underneath me. I think just for the second set there and I'd actually taken a small step on the balance. It just wasn't 100%, but you know, we're still three tenths clear of the rest of the field, just Felipe (Drugovich) and MP did a better job today on that final run. We need to look at the positives and we're on the front row for the main race, and it can all be built to play for then.

FIA Formula 2: What's the long run pace of the car like? Are you confident of challenging for two Feature Race wins in a row it would be?

Jack Doohan: Yeah, we'll see. You know, the pace has been strong in the races in the past few rounds. Different circuit we have here than obviously Spa so we'll see how that plays out, but I'm sure we'll be able to have a good race.

FIA Formula 2: And of course, you were here last year in Formula 3. Just a quick word on what these F2 cars are like to drive around Zandvoort.

Jack Doohan: It's obviously a heavier car, so it's a little bit more difficult than the Formula 3 car. But to be honest, it's the same real characteristics of the car, you just have to be a little bit more gentle and calm. You can't throw the car around as much as the F3 with the lighter weight. It's still very cool to be driving this track and I really enjoy it here.

FIA Formula 2: All right, thank you Jack. Best of luck for the rest of the weekend. Logan coming to you, very well done to you as well. Third on the grid for the second consecutive Feature Race. How good was your lap first of all?

Logan Sargeant: Not great, to be honest. I think Carlin gave us a really good car today, just didn't quite extract all the potential. I just didn't get it quite together on that last run, but you know we're at the sharp end and we can definitely fight from here.

FIA Formula 2: Well tell us about the long run pace of the car and what we should look out for on Sunday?

Logan Sargeant: I think we'll be okay, I think deg should be quite high. Also physically, it's going to be physically challenging, but I feel like we're in a good place and I'll be attacking from from third on the grid.

FIA Formula 2: All right, thank you, Logan.
