Hitech TGR driver Dino Beganovic was very satisfied with his work in the Yas Marina Sprint Race as he claimed a fourth-place finish on Saturday.
The Swede started the race from P7 on the grid but made progress through the pack in the early stages, before settling into a mid-race rhythm.
Speaking afterwards, Beganovic said he was tactical as he looked to make progress through the field and take positions late on in the Sprint.
“I’m super happy with today’s race,” he said. “We had a good start and good first lap, I made a nice move into T6 as well. And then I just kind of paced myself.

“I saw what the other guys were doing and then tried to take advantage of it. In the end, it wasn’t super easy, not easy to overtake either, but I managed to get ahead of Ollie in the end after a few tries with quite a special one into Turn 9. But super happy overall with today’s race.”
Reflecting on the middle-phase of the race during which he was locked in a battle with MP Motorsport’s Oliver Goethe, Beganovic said that he was able to build up to his impressive pass at Turn 9 for fourth position.
It was a late-braking manoeuvre, that came with a lock-up that put him in place to pass around the outside of the MP driver.
He explained why he felt the move was critical at that point of the race, and how he set up the pass, judging the grip of the track to perfection and paying respect to Goethe for racing him hard but fairly.
“It was a tricky one. I said in the car that this was the time, I have to take him now because I’ve been trying for so many laps. I knew I had to go for it and I made it stick.
“There is a lot of grip around that corner as it’s very banked, so I took advantage of that and felt the speed. Luckily, he gave me the space at the exit, and I could manage to pull the move off.”
Looking ahead to Sunday’s Feature Race and the final one of the season, Beganovic is optimistic he can pull off another strong result based on his recent form.

The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy talent points back to Monza as the turning point in the second half of the campaign, and believes he and the Hitech team unlocked pace in the car.
Following his P4 in the Sprint, he says a podium is within reach in what will be his final race with the British team.
“We found some stuff that we improved and took into Sunday’s race in Monza. After that we have had very good pace. It’s always been very strong, and I’ve been pretty happy about it. That’s been the main reason that things have changed.
“I think the pace looked great today. Obviously in more clean air, it will be even better just by looking at Arvid and Duerksen pulling away quite a lot today.
“I think getting that clean air is very important. Let’s see how Invicta do tomorrow. They looked equally strong, and Jak also looked strong today. Let’s see what we can do strategy-wise, but our race pace seemed to be good, so we can probably challenge for a podium.”
