TRIDENT’s Sami Meguetounif tackles these burning would you rather questions as we await a return to action for Round 7 in Spielberg.

The Frenchman talks us through his thinking behind each of his picks and, as usual with racing drivers, any competitive advantage is preferable.

WOULD YOU RATHER BE A SINGER OR AN ACTOR?

“Actor. I’m a very bad singer but even if I had a nice voice, I prefer movies. I always imagine when I watch them what it would be like to be an actor in them. It must be an easy life doing what you love, and that’s your job.”

WIN YOUR HOME RACE ONCE OR THE MONACO GRAND PRIX MULTIPLE TIMES?

“Monaco Grand Prix. I don’t have a home race, but even if I did, I’d still pick the Monaco Grand Prix. It’s close to home. My friends and family are there anyway, and the race is so legendary and tough that winning there would prove you’re the best.”

WIN FROM POLE OR WIN FROM LAST?

“Everyone will probably say win from last but I’d say from Pole because that means you did the perfect weekend with pole and the race win.”

WIN THE INDY 500 OR THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS?

“Le Mans. I went to school in Le Mans, so I’ve always dreamed of racing that track one day. I like the corners, at Indianapolis, there are only the four banked corners, and I don’t like those as much.”

STREET TRACK OR PERMANENT CIRCUIT?

“Permanent circuit. I like street circuits, but the normal circuits are more of a challenge because we have more track time there and there’s more time to play with the limits of the car. A street circuit is too much – not luck but you have to have things aligned. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes.”

KARAOKE OR DANCE OFF?

“I’m even worse at dancing than singing, so karaoke.”

FRONT ROW AT THE OSCARS OR FASHION WEEK?

“Oscars. I like fashion but I think I’d have a better time at the Oscars with all the actors and incredible people there.”

WIN MULTIPLE RACES BUT MISS OUT ON THE TITLE OR GO WINLESS AND WIN THE TITLE?

“Win the title because I’ve won too much without winning the Championship in my life!”

TOO HOT OR TOO COLD?

“Too hot. Too hot you can always find a solution to cool yourself down. When it’s cold it’s cold.”

ASTRONAUT OR ROCKSTAR?

“Astronaut. I don’t think it’s more fun than the other, but it’s a dream. You go to the moon, see the world from above, I like that.”

DISCOVER A NEW PLANET OR NEW ISLAND?

“Island. I watched Uncharted recently so maybe I’d find gold on the island or something.”

EAT WITH A SPOON OR A FORK FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?

“What’s the most strategic pick… with a spoon you can eat the same as a fork, but with a fork you can’t have soup for example. A piece of meat you can pick up with a spoon, so I’d go with spoon.”

READ PEOPLE’S MINDS OR KNOW EVERY LANGUAGE?

“Read people’s minds. I think it would be more useful because in what I do, I don’t need to talk all of the languages, but if I can read people’s minds, I can know other drivers’ strategies.”

WET TYRES ON A DRY TRACK OR DRY TYRES ON A WET TRACK?

“It would be almost impossible with dry tyres on a wet track, so I’ll pick wet tyres on a dry track so I can at least keep it on the road. The other option, it’s impossible to brake.”

TRAIN FOR A MARATHON OR A 100-METRE SPRINT?

“Marathon. I’m doing a lot of cardio anyway and I’m slow at sprinting, and I prefer endurance. It’s also about mental training as well.”

UNDERDRESSED OR OVERDRESSED?

“Overdressed so you look good.”
