Interview
Campos Racing finally got their victory on home soil in Formula 2 as Arvid Lindblad took top honours in the Feature Race around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Spanish outfit returned to the top of the Teams’ Standings for the first time since Jeddah and Round 3. The Briton earned a healthy 27 points on Sunday, and that was bolstered by teammate Josep María Martí’s P6 finish.
Eponymous Team Principal Adrian Campos Jr reflected on the team’s home success, admitting that while things could have been even better, it was still a positive outcome for the team overall.
“I can’t complain. Obviously, there is always something that could have been better. In the end, if we look at the weekend overall, winning the Feature Race and having Pepe in P6, it’s a good amount of points for the team.
“On the other side, Pepe was very unlucky in Qualifying, I think. He missed out by a very small amount and could have been in the top five easily.
“Also on Saturday with the late Safety Car, we could have pitted which would have been good for him too. That could have been better, but anyway, I wish we could have other weekends like this.”
Barcelona brought more reassurance that the team was able to unload with a quick car right away, and the rewards on Sunday were just evidence of the team’s improvement according to Campos Jr.
Campos secured 36 points across the Barcelona weekend, and the Team Principal was enthused with another strong display around a different style of circuit along with the results.
“I think we’ve been one of the teams that is always competitive. We might not always be the quickest each weekend, but we are always competitive.
“We normally don’t struggle, and we have very good pace. That’s something I’m very happy with so far this season, very happy with the team.
“I think it’s something that we saw last year also on most race weekends, we were competitive. We might have better or worse luck sometimes, but we were always showing very good pace. That’s what I’m seeing this year.”

While victory on Sunday was a welcome reward for the team’s hard work so far in 2025, more importantly for Campos Jr was the way in which the team rebounded from a tough weekend in Monaco.
While Martí was locked into a tough weekend on Friday after qualifying outside of the top 10, teammate Lindblad also lost points to time penalties in both the Sprint and Feature Races.
Both were back in the points on the following Sunday, even with Martí not getting the cleanest weekend. Lindblad’s improvements as a rookie are also fuelling confidence within the Campos setup.
“Pepe has started very well this year. I think he had a difficult weekend in Monaco and just needed to get the confidence back.
“Arvid is also improving very quickly, race-by-race, and it’s showing in the potential that our car has.
“I’m sure that we will be there in one or both of the races in Red Bull Ring, and I’m sure that Pepe will be quick enough to get that confidence back and start fighting for wins again.”
Looking ahead to Round 7, Campos Jr expects the momentum of the triple header to roll on around a circuit they were also competitive at last season.

While the team missed out on a possible victory, the Spanish team boss says the speed should be there once again with both drivers aiming for another victory.
“Winning is always good. But to win in Barcelona – we did it the last three years in F3, but never in F2. I didn’t even realise it was the first time, but it’s good to get it done.
“Red Bull Ring – I expect it to be a good weekend. Last year, we were very competitive with Isack until he had an issue in Qualifying after the first runs.
“He was P1 by quite a big margin, so I’m very confident that we will be very competitive once again this season.”
