Nyck de Vries to race for Williams at Italian Grand Prix

Nyck de Vries will replace Alexander Albon for the remainder of the Italian Grand Prix Williams has confirmed.
The 2019 Formula 2 Champion had already completed FP1 for Aston Martin on Friday at Monza, but will now suit up in Williams colours for FP3, Qualifying and Sunday's race.
It will be de Vries' Formula 1 race debut. The Dutchman has already completed three tests this season in 2022 machinery for Williams, Mercedes and Aston Martin.
Albon is suffering from appendicitis but is in good spirits according to the Williams team.
"Williams Racing can confirm that, after feeling unwell this morning and seeking medical advice from the FIA and local hospital, Alex Albon is now undergoing treatment for appendicitis," the Williams team statement said.
"Following on from this, we can confirm that the team’s Reserve Driver Nyck de Vries will drive in place of Alex for the remainder of the Italian Grand Prix weekend. Alex is in good spirits and the team wishes him a speedy recovery."
