The 2025 FIA Formula 2 season enters its final race weekend as the paddock heads to Abu Dhabi for the Round 14 of the campaign.
While Leonardo Fornaroli sealed the Drivers’ Championship last time out in Lusail, there is still plenty that needs to be decided at Yas Marina, including the Teams’ Title.

So ahead of the action getting started, here are a few storylines to look out for…
Invicta Racing have already sealed the Drivers’ title with Fornaroli, so all their focus will be on winning the Teams’ Championship this weekend.
The British outfit are aiming to complete the historic double for the second season in a row, having won both Championships in 2024.
If Invicta achieve this, they will join PREMA Racing – who did it in 2020 and 2021 – as the only multiple time Teams’ Champions in the field, but they face a huge battle to achieve this.
They are currently first on 296 points, but Hitech TGR are just 35 points behind them in second, while Campos Racing also have an outside chance on 239.
All three teams are in good form at the moment, and with the entire field very familiar with the Yas Marina Circuit, having tested their multiple times, expect the margins to be tight.
If Invicta are to make history, expect the battle to go down to the wire.
There are a few records that could be broken this weekend, a couple from Richard Verschoor, who after his victory in the Lusail Sprint Race tied the record for the most Formula 2 wins, with eight.
A win in either of the Yas Marina races would see him hold the record by himself with nine, making more history in the Championship.
In addition to that, the MP Motorsport driver and Victor Martins are currently tied for the most fastest laps in F2 history, with 10.
If either of these two were to add to that tally before the weekend’s end, they could have the record outright to end the season.
In addition, there are several drivers who will want to sign off their 2025 season with a victory, a podium or at least a strong performance, making history of their own.
All 11 teams’ job at Yas Marina does not end when the chequered flag is waved on Sunday, as they will be back at the circuit for post-season testing a few days later.
PREVIEW: Racing for the final time in 2025 around Yas Marina
Winning this weekend, or at least having a strong performance, could give any driver that is returning for 2026 and their teams a solid foundation for next season.
Looking back to last year at Abu Dhabi, Josep María Martí won the Sprint Race, while Joshua Duerksen took victory in the Feature.
That gave them a lot of confidence going into the post-season, with both drivers having strong tests, and also at the start of 2025.
Duerksen won the first race of the year in Melbourne, and the second victory went to Martí in Sakhir. So while the Drivers’ Championship may be over, these races do matter and can be used to build for another campaign.
