Following Saturday’s Monte Carlo Sprint Race, two drivers have received post-race penalties.

Firstly, Ritomo Miyata has been given a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision.

During the race, the driver of Car 3, Miyata, made contact with Car 10 of Oliver Goethe.

Afterwards, the Stewards heard from both drivers along with a team representative and examined available video evidence.

They determined that Car 3 had been wholly responsible for the collision. As a result, the Stewards allocated a 10-second time penalty to the Hitech driver.

Miyata stays P11 in the final classification. Secondly, Joshua Duerksen has been handed a five-place grid penalty for failure to have the correct number of tyres.

The Stewards spoke to a team representative and determined that during Qualifying the driver of Car 2 rendered the front right tyres of both Option compound set of tyres unusable for safety reasons.

The Stewards did not deem this to be for reasons of force majeure, and it means that Car 2 is unable to comply with Article 24.15 of the FIA Formula 2 Sporting Regulations for the Feature Race.

As a result, they have elected to apply a grid drop of five places to Duerksen for the Feature Race as this is when the new option tyre will be required to be used.

Duerksen is now set to start in P18.
