It was a hard-fought campaign, but at Yas Marina Théo Pourchaire was the driver to clinch the 2023 Formula 2 Drivers’ Championship, winning his year-long battle with Frederik Vesti.
With everything on the line going into the final day of the season, the pressure was on as the Frenchman looked to hold onto a Championship advantage, while Vesti attempted to overturn a sizeable deficit, coming very close to doing so at the final hurdle.
Starting from P14 after a less than ideal Qualifying session, the ART driver remained steadfast in his belief that the title was within his grasp, while Vesti was defiant to the very end in pursuit of his rival.

Alongside Pourchaire’s F2 achievement, teammate Victor Martins aimed to beat PREMA Racing’s Oliver Bearman to the rookie of the year honours, with the theme of ART vs PREMA continuing into the Teams’ Championship fight also.
