Martinius Stenshorne was satisfied to take a points haul away from the Miami Sprint Race after a difficult race on Saturday.

The Rodin Motorsport driver started in P8 and was able to make progress up to sixth position by the chequered flag in the shorter race.

Speaking in the paddock afterwards, the Norwegian driver said that it was a positive day overall, and that it was a good platform to go into the Feature Race tomorrow.

“It was a good race, started P8, finished P6, so happy with that. P5, maybe P4 was on the cards, but I didn't really manage to do it in the end. But the pace was good, so looking forward to tomorrow.”

Reflecting further on the Sprint, Stenshorne believes that it was an early battle with MP Motorsport’s Gabriele Minì that ultimately took a better result off the table.

As he and the Italian fought over track position, it dropped the duo out of DRS range to Rodin teammate Alexander Dunne ahead of them.

While he couldn’t say where he would’ve ultimately ended up had he remained in the one-second window to the car ahead, he was still pleased with the underlying pace he and the team showed.

“It's difficult to say. Me and Gabriele were fighting quite a lot in the beginning. We lost DRS to Alex, so I think we kind of lost our race there.

“We caught up at the end, but there just was not enough time to do it. I think we just have to be consistent, try to pick up as many points as we can, and then we can be satisfied with that, so hopefully another one good tomorrow.”

Looking ahead to the larger points on offer in the Feature event, Stenshorne says that the race will be tough once again particularly with the Florida heat to contend with.

Beyond that, the Rodin driver believes that he has the speed to fight for victory going from third on the grid on Sunday.

“Well, first of all, the race was really hot, to be honest. Me being from Norway, I’m not so used to the heat, but for sure we can improve maybe a few things for tomorrow and then we will be ready to go again.

“We will be going for the win as always. Starting P3, I think that's within reach, so we just need to get everything right, and then see where we end up.”
