After the heights of 2024, Invicta Racing has quite the follow-up act on its hands for the upcoming campaign. Having swept the biggest prizes last year, the team has a brand-new line-up as it aims to do the same this time around and retain both the Teams’ and Drivers’ titles.

Reigning F3 Champion Leonardo Fornaroli is joined by the experienced Roman Stanek, who returns to the Championship. They make up an intriguing combo for a team that has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Will 2025 continue that trend? They will certainly hope so.

Fresh from his finest season yet in single seaters, Leonardo Fornaroli ensures that there will be a Champion racing in Invicta colours this year after Gabriel Bortoleto’s title with the team and subsequent graduation to F1 with Kick Sauber.

He follows in the footsteps of his former Trident F3 teammate in more ways than one, as it was his impressive consistency that won him the title last year. Bortoleto laid down the blueprint of how to win the F2 crown as a rookie last time around, but the Italian driver will be eager to settle in quickly in his own fashion.

Having been able to accumulate racing F2 experience at the tail end of the year during the final weekend at Yas Marina, his acclimatisation to the Championship is well underway. Post-season testing was the first opportunity he got to sample Invicta machinery, and pre-season testing next month will be pivotal to gain early season insights and a foundation from which to build from.

The follow-up act is always tough having achieved a title the previous year, but Fornaroli could quietly go about impressing in the early rounds if he carries his momentum from last year into this new one.

The return of Roman Stanek poses an intriguing prospect ahead of the upcoming season. The Czech driver is a race winner after his Melbourne Sprint Race victory in 2024, but can he press on and make further waves upon his comeback?

2025 will be Stanek’s third season in F2, a pattern mirrored by his time in FIA Formula 3, and it’s one that will be encouraging. In each subsequent season of F3, he made vast improvement and in his final season there with Trident, he was a title contender, standing on the podium multiple times and as a race winner in Imola.

Will year three in F2 be a repeat of that? Time will tell, but Stanek has made steps with every subsequent year he’s competed in one Championship. With Invicta, he might be in the perfect place with the team riding high after their success from last year, though that won’t mean either party is resting on their laurels.

Both Trident F3 alumni now face their biggest tests yet but with Invicta at the top of their game, 2025 is looking to be a promising campaign for the duo. With testing coming up, they will be able to ramp up their preparations before flying to Melbourne, as Stanek aims to replicate his strong showing down under in 2024.

Fornaroli also enjoyed one of his best results of last year around the Albert Park Circuit, taking Pole Position and finishing second in the Feature Race with a solid drive – the kind that took him to the title.

Last year, Invicta were quick to understand the new generation of car ahead of some of their closest rivals, but with a year of experience and a maiden F2 title now under their belts, the Norfolk-based squad look set to press on in 2025.
