One of the only teams to have a line-up comprised of rookies for 2025, Hitech TGR have a lot of hopes for the upcoming season after an impressive showing last time out.

While the British team ultimately missed out on the major two pieces of silverware, victories and pole positions were always within grasp, Paul Aron eventually winning for them in Lusail.

Both Luke Browning and Dino Beganovic accumulated Formula 2 experience at the tail-end of the 2024 campaign, securing points in short order. They will be embarking on their first full F2 campaigns with high expectations.

There’s a great sense of optimism for the team and their new drivers, but can they press on from where the outfit left off last year?

A known quantity within the Hitech TGR setup, Luke Browning has achieved some of his best races with the team in Formula 3, as he fought for the Drivers’ Championship last season.

The Williams Racing Driver Development talent earned two poles, two wins and four podiums during his two seasons with the team in F3 and will feel supported in a familiar environment this time around as he steps up to Formula 2.

He competed in the final three rounds of last season, scoring points on his maiden weekend around one of the toughest venues on the calendar in Baku. He then got to sample the Hitech car in post-season testing as preparations for 2025 began in earnest.

Having contended for the title last year in F3, ending up third overall following a tricky final round, Browning has high expectations and could be a factor should he grow comfortable with his new machinery early in the campaign.

He has demonstrated in recent years that he can hit the ground running, with top five results in the last two years in Round 1, including a win in 2024’s Sakhir Feature Race. His consistency was demonstrated by securing points in every Feature Race bar two last season. The foundations are there for Browning to press on in F2.

Over on the other side of the garage in 2025, Dino Beganovic makes his full-time F2 debut after also gaining some early experience in the final two rounds of last season.

The Swede performed admirably, securing points finishes in all but one of his races, a stint that included a podium finish in the Yas Marina Sprint Race.

Beganovic looked very much at home quickly in F2, fighting at the sharp end from the outset and proving that he had the speed even with his relative inexperience versus rivals on the 2024 grid.

The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy talent has been a regular front runner in recent years in whichever Championship he’s raced in. While his 2024 campaign didn’t go exactly according to plan, competing for the title but ultimately falling short, Beganovic will hope he can take his first Championship since 2022. His performances at the end of last year will fill confidence levels.

Like Browning, Beganovic has often made fast starts to new seasons in recent years. While his Pole Position in Sakhir ultimately led to no points last season, he corrected that at the next opportunity by winning the Melbourne F3 Feature Race.

If he carries the form of 2024 on into 2025, Beganovic will be a front runner from the outset. He and the team will be hard at work to ensure that happens before the season gets underway.

Hitech TGR finished the 2024 season fourth in the Standings, just outside of the top three by 18.5 points. Aron was able to ensure the team claimed at least one victory, ensuring every team took to the top step last year.

But their points total will be the target to break through as they take on two promising rookies and look set to press on in the second season with a greater understanding of the ‘new’ F2 car.

Both Browning and Beganovic will be aiming to improve on the high-water mark of last season, fighting at the front regularly for poles, podiums and victories.
