The Sprint Race came alive in the final lap in Silverstone, after a late Safety Car prompted a number of teams to roll the dice and make the bold call to the pit their drivers and swap their hard tyres for mediums. ART Grand Prix were amongst them and boxed Christian Lundgaard, with two laps to go. The Dane returned in fifth, with the four drivers in front of him all opting to stick rather than twist.

Guanyu Zhou, in the final podium position, was one of these and he was instantly down team radio telling his team they had made the wrong call.

Dan Ticktum had led the entirety of the race up until this point, but his win now sat on a knife edge. Could the DAMS driver hold on to the win despite his heavily degraded tyres, or would Lundgaard snatch it at the death?
