Feature
Frenchman Sami Meguetounif is the latest driver on the 2025 grid to come up with the ultimate racing driver.
From attacking style to defensive prowess, mental strength and unrelenting consistency, here’s how the TRIDENT driver got on.
INTELLIGENCE
“I would say Alain Prost. He was so good at strategising in the car, but also outside of the car he was someone who was very calm, very, very smart on every point of motorsport. How he worked with the team for example, how he needed to drive in the car.
“I’d also say Oscar Piastri is someone who’s also very smart. He is very cool under pressure and the type of intelligent he is when he’s driving is very impressive.”
WET WEATHER DRIVING “Max Verstappen. Every time it rains, he’s on another planet. George Russell is also quite strong too. I remember at Spa with Williams, he was on the front row there. That was very impressive.”
QUALIFYING PACE
“Charles Leclerc, also Max. We never know with the cars now how good they actually are, but Charles is very good, very consistent in Qualifying results.”
CORNERING SPEED
“Lewis Hamilton. I think back to 2021, I know he lost that season in the end, but those cars were super impressive and the speed he carried into corners, yeah I would say Lewis.”

TYRE MANAGEMENT
“Lewis again. He’s a very smooth driver, he has a very smooth style but also has that big experience nowadays. So, I think he’s the master at saving tyres.”
RISK TAKING
“Hmm… I would say myself. I’m a high-risk driver, so I’ll put myself down for this one.”
SMOOTH OR AGGRESSIVE STYLE?
“Piastri’s a very smooth driver. I’ve seen a lot of him also before he reached F1 and he is very, very smooth as a driver. It’s nice to watch and I think it’s the style I prefer, more smooth than aggressive I’d say.”
OVERTAKING
“Daniel Ricciardo. Max is always good too, but Ricciardo used to just send a divebomb and make it stick.”

DEFENDING
“Fernando Alonso. He’s always so smart about how he positions his car. With all the experience he has now, he knows every trick to defend in various situations.”
ANYTHING ELSE?
“Consistency. A driver has to be consistent, hitting their marks always and repeating it every single lap. It’s important to be able to replicate that exactly everywhere because over one lap, you just need to be fast, but in the races you need to be fast and consistent.”
