We dive into the paddocks to take a look at the essential items for our drivers on a race weekend. From iPads and AirPods to helmets and hats and much more, we find out what they can’t travel without.

Tatiana Calderon is up next…

Cap and sunglasses

We spend a lot of time on track walks on windy circuits, so we need to protect ourselves from the sun. I have my cap with my Claro logo, who are one of my sponsors, and my Carrera sunglasses to protect my eyes. You obviously know how important your eyes are and they can get dry just from the wind, so the protection is important.

Watch

At the end of the day it is all about time, isn’t it? So, I have my Richard Mille watch. The interesting bit about the watch is that it has so much technology and it’s so light that you can wear it while you are driving. Personally, I really like to wear it and it means that I can have a little look at how much time we have before we go for the formation lap, or other things like that. Romain Grosjean wears one too and Antonio Giovinazzi probably does as well, due to the alfa Romeo deal. Felipe Massa was the first one to wear one – so I think it’s a good tradition.

Water bottle

BWT are obviously our main sponsor and feature on the front of the bottle. I think that hydration is key for concentration and in racing it is not only about the physical side but also the mental side. When you are de-hydrated, you lose a lot of concentration, so I tend to drink a lot, which I feel is quite important.

Race suit and helmet

They must be on the essentials of course. To be honest, I have never been a big fan of pink, but things change and I think the pink suit is okay for a girl. If Anthoine (Hubert) was wearing it, then it maybe wouldn't have been so cool. There is my helmet as well and you have your own design so people recognize you through your helmet. I have Bell this year and they have changed a few of the colours of my helmet and I quite like it.

Phone

I have the Alfa Romeo case on there which is cool. The phone is very useful during a race weekend because it contains my entire schedule.

Sock

This is a funny story, because I tend to lose my socks check out our latest podcast to find out more!. When I need to get changed I obviously have to go and change in the bathroom, because I don’t want to change in the truck. There was one time that Patricia from HWA found a sock in the ladies bathroom and texted me to ask if it was mine and since then, I have tried to pay a little bit more attention to where my socks are, as I always tended to lose them Laughs.
