Richard Verschoor and David Beckmann have both been handed penalties following today’s Feature Race at Monza.

Verschoor has been disqualified from today’s Feature Race results after it was found that the combined weight of his MP Motorsport car, including the driver wearing his complete racing apparel, was below the minimum weight specified in Article 5.a of the Technical Regulations.

MP’s representative advised that the calculations made by the team on the expected combined weight of the car and driver were incorrect. Verschoor had also not picked up as much tyre debris on the cool down lap after the chequered flag as they’d expected.

The Dutchman had crossed the line in seventh and his disqualification promotes everyone below him by one place, including Christian Lundgaard, who grabs the final point available with P10.

Meanwhile, David Beckmann has received a five-place grid drop penalty for the next race that he participates in.

Approaching Turn 1, the German completely misjudged his braking point, which caused him to heavily impact Bent Viscaal’s Trident. The Dutchman retired following the collision. The Stewards determined that Beckmann was wholly responsible for the contact.
