The racing may be over this year, but there are still three days of action at the Yas Marina Circuit set to take place, as the teams and drivers begin their preparations for 2026 with post-season testing.
Around a venue very familiar to the paddock, several new faces will start work with their new teams, while some returning drivers will look to build on 2025.
Here is everything you need to know ahead of testing…
Testing will run from December 10-12, but the timing on each day is set to be slightly different.
The green light on the opening day is set for 10:00 local time, before the chequered flag is waved for lunch at 13:00. After a two-hour break, the afternoon session goes from 15:00 to 18:00 local time.
On Thursday, the drivers will start an hour earlier at 09:00 local time, with the morning session set to close at 12:00. It will be another two-hour lunch break, before another three hours of running kicks off at 14:00 and ends at 17:00.
The final day of the season will start again at 09:00 local time, with the session ending at 12:00 local time.
There will be just an hour’s break before the afternoon segment, with the drivers set to be back out on track at 13:00, and the chequered flag on the 2025 season scheduled for 16:00 local time.
The teams will have at their disposal the same tyre compounds that they had at the race weekend, with Pirelli bringing to the track the Supersofts and Mediums tyres.
Post-season testing is set to take place around the 5.2km Yas Marina Circuit
Joshua Duerksen set the fastest time of last year’s Yas Marina post-season test with a 1:35.583
The field for testing will feature eight drivers from the FIA Formula 3 grid, including 2025 Champion Rafael Câmara, who is confirmed to be driving for Invicta Racing next season.
Joshua Duerksen, Dino Beganovic, Alexander Dunne and Kush Maini are the only drivers in the field to have won at least one Formula 2 race.
However, the likes of Gabriele Minì, Sebastián Montoya, Nikola Tsolov, Ritomo Miyata, and Rafael Villagómez have all achieved at least one podium.
There are 19 different nationalities represented across the grid during post-season testing.
Each day will be available to follow via live timing and also a live blog on the official FIA Formula 2 website. Reports will also be online at the end of each test day, along with driver reactions from Yas Marina.
You can also keep up to date with all the goings on via the official F2 social media channels across all three days.
