Ritomo Miyata is the next member of the grid to be trialled with taking on our Would You Rather feature, and he gives us some very interesting answers.

The ART Grand Prix driver tells us about his attachment to music, the difficulties of endurance racing and the languages he is currently learning.

WIN THE INDY 500 OR THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS?

“24 Hours of Le Mans. Last year I drove Le Mans 24 Hours in the LMP2 Class. I've had a lot of 24-hour endurance races in my career, in Japan and also in Daytona. I drive in F2 now, in single seaters, so if it was winning Monaco or Le Mans, I'd say Monaco, but Indy or Le Mans, I'd prefer Le Mans.

“Indy 500 is very traditional, but Le Mans is an endurance race. You have to focus, especially sharing the car with other drivers, and you have to fight for 24 hours, but the team needs 48 hours with maintenance and preparation. So if you can win a 24-hour race, it's a huge success.”

WIN FROM POLE OR LAST?

“Pole to the win.”

PERMANENT TRACK OR STREET CIRCUIT?

“I prefer permanent circuits. There are many types of permanent circuits, but street tracks are mostly the same. I came from Japan, so I am missing some tracks on the calendar. F2 races on the same tracks as F1, but there are some tracks that we cannot go too, and I prefer those circuits.”
